Owen joined FAIRR in 2023 as an intern within the Biodiversity team. Following this, he transitioned into a permanent role working on Food Technology & Alternative Protein. His work focusses on developing FAIRR’s proprietary research and data on alternative protein start-ups to drive better engagement and investor outcomes in the food and agriculture sector.
Working at FAIRR
Owen’s core responsibilities include support on both company- and industry-level research as well as establishing relationships with alternative protein companies, all with an emphasis on ESG outcomes and financial impacts. His quantitative and qualitative analysis of policies, regulations, company activities, investments, and technological developments supports FAIRR’s resources for investors and established food companies on the alternative protein sector.
Previous examples of Owen’s work include producing a database informing FAIRR’s thematic report on regenerative agriculture and supporting the development of FAIRR’s collaborative Seafood Traceability engagement. Recent projects include the building out of databases addressing global novel food & alternative protein regulation, global sovereign investments into alternative proteins, and FAIRR & GFI’s alternative protein ESG assessment framework.
