Joseph joined FAIRR in 2023 as an ESG Analyst Intern working on the Coller FAIRR Protein Producer Index. He now works in the Research & Engagement team, focusing on the Working Conditions engagement and developing FAIRR’s Social Risk theme.
Working at FAIRR
As part of the working conditions engagement team, Joseph conducts in-depth assessments of companies’ labour management to highlight to stakeholders the risks and opportunities faced by these companies. His other responsibilities include supporting FAIRR-facilitated dialogues between companies and investors, working on outputs for Phase 3 of the engagement and expanding FAIRR’s knowledge of social risk.
A recent example of Joseph’s work is the 2022/2023 Coller FAIRR Protein Producer Index, which assesses the world’s largest publicly listed animal protein producers on critical environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues. Joseph was responsible for assessing companies’ risk level across the working conditions and sustainability governance risk factors. He was also responsible for the human capital risks section of the Index’s 2022/23 progress report.
Experience
Joseph holds an MSc in Environmental Change and International Development and a BSc in Economics from the University of Sheffield.
