Dr Helena Wright joined FAIRR in 2021 as the Policy Director. She leads on engagement with governments, investors, regulators and industry bodies, to co-develop policy solutions to tackle the challenges and opportunities associated with intensive animal agriculture.
Working at FAIRR
Helena leads on FAIRR’s policy-related engagement with governments, regulators, industry bodies, and investors. Her primary goal is to foster a deeper comprehension of the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks associated with intensive animal agriculture. Through her work, she strives to facilitate heightened awareness and understanding of these risks among key stakeholders. Additionally, Helena is dedicated to promoting a robust dialogue that encourages the development and adoption of sustainable policies and business practices within the realm of animal agriculture. Her efforts contribute to building stronger connections between various sectors and fostering a collective commitment to sustainable and responsible practices in the industry.
Experience
Prior to FAIRR, her previous experience included working as a Vice President at the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), working at the think tank E3G on sustainable finance, as well as working as a negotiator for the UK Government on climate change. She has written multiple book chapters and articles on environmental issues and was a contributory author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Helena holds a PhD from Imperial College London focused on climate finance, and a BA from University of Cambridge.
