Sofía joined the FAIRR Initiative in April 2021. As Head of the Investor Outreach team at FAIRR, she is responsible for the development and implementation of a global investor outreach strategy to strengthen and expand FAIRR's investor network
Working at FAIRR
Sofía currently leads FAIRR's Investor Outreach activities to ensure that the investment community is aware of the risks and opportunities in the global food system and how to integrate them into their investment decision-making processes. This includes activities aiming to integrate investor priorities across FAIRR teams and into FAIRR’s offering, strengthening FAIRR's presence across different countries, tailoring FAIRR’s offer to the needs of asset owners and asset managers based on regional priorities and acting as spokesperson for the organization on topics related to investor priorities in the food and agriculture sector.
Examples of Sofía’s publications include the Protein & Nutrition: Research Overview, the Investor Action on AMR Progress Report as well as Opeds and contributions to articles and interviews for outlets including the Financial Times, Bloomberg, Stanford Social Innovation Review, Research Money, ImpactAlpha, WEF Agenda, and Reuters.
Experience
Prior to this, she led the Innovative Finance Programme of the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN). She has also worked as a Strategy Specialist at the World Economic Forum and an Analyst at J.P. Morgan.
Sofía holds a BA in International Relations and Economics from the University of Geneva, an MA in International Development and Economics from the Graduate Institute of Geneva, as well as an MSc in Public Health and Health Economics from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). She also holds a CFA certificate in ESG Investing. Sofía has worked on projects and initiatives in Europe, Latin America, and Africa and is fluent in English, Spanish, and French. She currently serves as a trustee on the board of the Latin American Women’s Rights Service Organisation.
