EPA Considers Tougher Regulation of Livestock Farm Pollution

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is looking to examine whether to toughen regulation of large livestock farms that release manure and other pollutants into waterways. The latest Coller FAIRR Protein Producer Index shows that the risks associated with waste pollution remain largely unaddressed by major animal protein producers globally. Just 6% of assessed companies disclose engaging with their animal suppliers to ensure better nutrient management practices.
Restaurants Dropping Meat Dishes as Costs Rise and Veganuary Grows More Popular

A survey of over 150 restaurant chains shows that only 33% of main courses include meat, and just 12% of starters. On top of that, there is also an expansion of vegan-only restaurants. With trends around healthier living and eating less meat on the rise, is this shift going to persist?
