Event Overview

This event is part of World Biodiversity Summit, a pioneering platform for global public-private partnerships to address the urgent need for biodiversity restoration through nature-based solutions and nature-positive investments.

The importance of the world’s oceans for biodiversity cannot be overstated: 80% of all life on Earth is found in the oceans. At the same time, the threats faced by oceans, including overconsumption and pollution, have never been greater.

In this keynote session, speakers will share examples of best practice when it comes to protecting marine biodiversity. They will highlight the important innovations, opportunities, and developments that will drive the protection of marine ecosystems in the future.

Speakers include:

  • Max Boucher, Senior Manager, Research & Engagements, Biodiversity, FAIRR Initiative;

  • Angelique Pouponneau, Deputy Fellowship Director and Policy Adviser, AOSIS.
