Ridwaan joined FAIRR in August 2024 as an ESG Analyst within the Research and Engagements team, focusing on Biodiversity and Just Transition.
Experience
Ridwaan brings over three years of experience in sustainability, with a strong interest in food security, sustainable development, and biodiversity. He holds a First Class BSc degree in Chemical and Process Engineering from London South Bank University. Prior to joining FAIRR, Ridwaan worked at Amazon, advancing their ESG agenda through micromobility initiatives and policy discussions with local councils across major UK cities. He later transitioned to ERM, where he focused on delivering technical due diligence for M&A projects. Ridwaan is also the co-founder of Somalis for Sustainability.
Working at FAIRR
At FAIRR, Ridwaan focuses on building the foundations for the Just Transition workstream, with a particular emphasis on financial incentives for farmers and regenerative agriculture practices. He coordinates engagements with relevant stakeholders, compiles responses to consultations, and represents FAIRR at events and conferences. Collaborating with investors, corporate leaders, NGOs, farmers and academia, Ridwaan aims to foster alignment on equitable practices and drive impactful change. Additionally, he works closely with FAIRR’s Social Risk, Biodiversity, and Oceans teams to provide insights and shape sustainability conversations.
